This Month's Vinyl Thrift Store Sharity

Eddie Costa and Art Farmer, In Their Own Sweet Way (Premier, n.d.)

Here's a nice seven track jazz LP, stereo version, although it may have been recorded in mono originally. Costa, who played piano and vibes, died in 1962--his family seems to be in charge of this discography that includes nice reproductions of his album covers.

As this page on the Verve site notes, most of Costa's work is out of print, and it seems this album is as well. Oddly, this rather nice discography of Costa's session work doesn't list this record at all. I can't find a Premier Records discography (it doesn't help that there's a new Christian label by that name), so I don't know the album's recording date.

Art Farmer emigrated to Austria in 1968, according to this biography, and died in 1999. He, too, has a decent if occasionally obscure discography. This album seems unnoticed in the web pages devoted to his career.

It is all here in one rapidshare.com .zip file.
